SWFIA FLIGHTS DOWN
>>Passenger traffic in January at Southwest Florida International Airport (www.flylcpa.com) totaled more than 760,000, a 2.7 percent decrease from January 2007. The airline leader for the month was JetBlue Airways with 88,727 passengers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Air Tran (88,455), Delta (86,085), Southwest (74,429) and Continental (68,895).
This news from Ft Myers RSW International Airport
falls in line with a drop in occupancy rate in lodgings in our area. Visitors Bureau mentiones a rate of 50%, which is lower than last year.
More data should be forthcomming.
We seem to have a large influx of tourists from Germany and England, of course also Canada.
They are all enjoying the large drop in the value of our Dollar. Todays exchanges were lower than ever.
The EURO now costs $1.50, which is a large drop from PAR just a few years ago. |
