Message:   My opinion about what is laughingly referred to as an "election" of board members is that we really have never known how many votes for board candidates have been properly-tallied. Who SEES them, except possibly some persons with a vested interest in the outcome?

My previous complaints about this problem have gone unanswered, so probably, once again, I will be the voice in the wilderness - this time crying, "freedom of information, and unbiased observation are the answers!"

So the only constructive "advice" I can offer at this point for the FGH election is to list the candidates I hope you will consider.

First, I must name the candidate I hope you will ELIMINATE from the board: Joseph Gala, who NEVER should have been allowed to even run for, let alone be elected to the board, since the corporation he owns holds the lucrative HOUSEKEEPING contract with FGH! Board members, past and present either didn't understand, or didn't CARE that this is an open and shut case of confict of interest - not too difficult a concept to grasp!

My hope, obviously, is that he will no longer hold this unethical board membership! Get him off, please!

Now that I have vented a little spleen, I will offer my personal choices.

First - Dennis Linicome. My selection here is based partially on the fact that his wife, Sheila, has been a very constructive participant in these discussions, and I believe that his ability to think straight and speak up must be a "family" strength.

Next - Brenda Pommerenke. Not only has she served on budget advisory committees, cost proposals, work-invoicing processes and accounting system implementation plans as a Contract Specialist, but - for Heaven's sake - she and her husband own 8 weeks at Casa! That's EIGHT weeks, folks. I own seven so I know what that costs! Her votes would, I feel sure, be wisely-determined!

Third: John Ball. This ex-cop who has served on what usually has to be a cost-conscious church building committe has an even better work activity to put him on my list: day care provider for his grandchildren! Any man courageous enough to perform in that capacity and then SELF-CONFIDENT enough to list it as an asset is, in my book (as a Public Relations consultant), strong enough to stand up to Hospitality and whoever else is not fulfilling their proper roles as board members!

Give these votes careful thought, please!

Joan Walker
