Message:   Dear Ladys and Gentlemen

You might be interested to hear about our studies.
We are a team of scientists from Switzerland, Germany and other European countries. Specifically we are studying the insect order of Phasmatodea, commonly known as stick and leaf insects. This study includes aspects of Phasmatodea systematics and taxonomy as well as biology and behaviour. The aim of our extensive research is to study the Phasmatodea fauna of the world more thoroughly, which includes studying and preserving phasmid species in vivo too. These insects are overlooked very easily, not only in their natural habitat, but also science did not pay to much interest in their systematics and biology - as yet.

We have one of the biggest scientific collections of Phamids in world to support our taxonomical research. Several Phasmid species are being studied in vivo here in Europe, thereby we are trying to learn more about their fascinating biology and life cycles. Currently we are studying about 50 different species in vivo from around the world.

Our group is affiliated with the most renowned experts on Phasmid biology and systematics - like Oskar Conle, Frank Henneman, Phil Bragg, Paul Brock, Francis Seow-Chown amongst others.

In literature several species of Phasmids or stick insects are described from New Caledonia and surrounding countries - and many more species are existing in these beautiful countries, many of which are still undiscovered. I am trying now to make contact with sincere persons from New Caledonia which are capable and willing to support our studies by:
- sending dead specimens of stick insects for taxonomical research
- and by sending viable stick insect eggs for in vivo observations and preservation of the species for the future
Interested persons should have an natural interest in animals and nature and be capable to contact me by email.

Interested persons will be remunerated appropriately for performing this simple job in an honest way. I would send all needed informations:
- how, where and when to collect these insects
- how to get their eggs and send these by airmail
- an easy method how to prepare specimens and send these by airmail.

In case you know persons who might be interested in this subject matter - like students, teachers or researchers (e.g. entomologists, zoologists, botanists ect.) or persons enthusiastic about nature - I shall be very happy if you could forward this letter to them or (if you prefer so) to get their email address or answer any further question you might have about this issue.

Following is a link to a web site, where my scientific co-worker Mr. Conle publishes relevant results of our studies:

Wishing you all the best and hoping to hear from you
yours sincerely
Dr. Bruno Kneubuhler
