first i want to say thanks so much for choosing to vent here,that's what this site is all about....and..yes our world is filled with the drug demon!and when you're right in the middle(not participating)it's even harder to handle.try not to become overwhelmed by this as it will only consume you and yes..we DO CHOOSE our way,some are weaker than others,some get there without realizing how until they find they have a real problem,then,it's a matter of deciding what to do about it.this is a very slow process and you can't expect it to get better overnight.it will take as long or longer to get better than it took to get where they are now.
about the only thing you can do is..PRAY and stand YOUR ground by letting them know how you feel and that the substance is NOT WELCOME in your home.you can give each one an alternative,however,if you speak it,be ready to back it up.it CAN be a home where ONLY GOD RULES,however,that is a process also,it has to start somewhere,the best place i know is within one's self,and then,PRAYER is very powerful,just faint not(meaning:don't quit,keep praying,thanking GOD for HIS LOVE and forgiveness,then we must have a forgiving heart and wait and hope that "we" follow the path we should)
remember,we ALL have weakneses,some are more noticable than others.sometimes it's good to see,which tells me they may be reaching out,or they are looking for another excuse to do more,or etc,etc.
one more thing....SILENCE IS GOLDEN....in your case it may be best to just keep venting and pray...if there's something i've missed in this subject please elaborate..i am not a licensed counselor,my credentials are all from experience on one side or the other of the tables in the instances i speak of. |
