Sometimes you have to be tough with those that you love or else you end up neglecting the rest of the family. If a member of your family won't help themselves or refuses to let themselves be helped then you must simply let them deal with their own messes. If they get picked up off the street by the police for dealing/using then let them sort it. Do not bail them out. If they steal from you, report the crime. Let them sort it out. If they throw up over themselves, soil themselves then let them sort it out.
Tough love is as tough on the one administering it as it is to those who have to take it. They will eventually see how hard it has been for you to have to cope with the results of their actions but it will work. Give it time and pray for guidance. God bless. |
