HIJAB SUPPORT GROUP BY HIJABS FOR YOU

As-Salamu Alaikum

Welcome to our Hijab Forum. Feel free to post a message. This Forum was created as a support group for Muslimahs. If you have any questiosn or comments and want support or answers from other Muslimahs you can post them in this forum. I am not vouching to have all the answers to anyones questions but as I get plenty of e-mails from muslimahs with problems on the job with hijab or her family is muslim but does not want her to cover I decided that a forum support group would benefit them as well as other muslimahs who have been through the same thing or are dealing with that issues that I did not have to deal with. Your advice, experience, or knowledge can help another muslimah along the way of the straight path.

Ma Salam

Brothers Commenting on sisters clothing and hijab preferences.

I was recently surfing the net and I came across this posting of a brother commenting on how a sister and her hijab was matching and it looked unislamic. My first thought is What??? He claimed the sister not hijabing next to her looked more modest then the one that was covering. First of all I do not like when brothers comment on a sisters dress, one it is not their business, two when it is obligatory for them to adorn a hijab everyday then they can comment, three do they even carry an islamic look like wearing a thoub or a kufee. I have been at lectures and I will hear the speaker say " And sisters stop buying all those hijabs". Excuse me, how about brothers stop buying all those kufees and books or how about encouraging brothers to look like a muslim all the time. That person commenting does not know if the sisters give equal in sadaqa to what she buys. What brothers do not tend to realize, is that Hijabing is a muslimah way of dress everyday and not when she feels like wearing it or not like a kufee. So if she wants her hijab to match her bag that is fine. And if she wants 65 hijabs to match her clothes that is fine. It is part of her religion to hijab and no matter what color or style she wears the main point is, she is hijabing and practicing her religion. On the last note I love going to an islamic event and seeing all the sisters in their different color hijabs that match their abaya or clothes. It makes me proud to be muslimah and see how we have evolved into our own identities and still be modest. As wearing black not everyones thing.
