HIJAB SUPPORT GROUP BY HIJABS FOR YOU

As-Salamu Alaikum

Welcome to our Hijab Forum. Feel free to post a message. This Forum was created as a support group for Muslimahs. If you have any questiosn or comments and want support or answers from other Muslimahs you can post them in this forum. I am not vouching to have all the answers to anyones questions but as I get plenty of e-mails from muslimahs with problems on the job with hijab or her family is muslim but does not want her to cover I decided that a forum support group would benefit them as well as other muslimahs who have been through the same thing or are dealing with that issues that I did not have to deal with. Your advice, experience, or knowledge can help another muslimah along the way of the straight path.

Ma Salam

Re: non-hijabi convert

Wa'alikum Salam Sara! Alhamdullilah you came back to your religion. Allah has guided you to the straight way.
Sara, nobody can force you to wear hijab. Every person will be held accountable for the things they do or don't do here on earth.
Allah has commanded for believing women to cover themselves. This is obligatory. So, if you choose not to wear hijab, you will be judged accordingly.
Also in addition to this, it definitely sends mixed messages for the non-believers when they see a muslim woman not completely practicing her religion.
And please know that there are other reasons for wearing hijab. For modesty, identity, and protection. So it definitely behooves you to wear hijab. Protect your honor and integrity Sara. This is best for you.
May Allah help you in this struggle. Please know that there are hundreds of muslim woman who go through this struggle - you are not alone.
Also, I'm not sure what religion you came from. Me, I was a christian. And I just want to tell you that even in the Bible, it tells women to cover their hair. In 1 Corinthians 11:1-16. You can now understand that this is something that's always been ordained by God.
Good luck to you Sara and may Allah continue to guide you down the right path.
Halima

Don't worry when your ready you will know. It takes time and in the mean time while your learning more about the religion it will give you the strength and the love you need to start wearing it.
