HIJAB SUPPORT GROUP BY HIJABS FOR YOU

As-Salamu Alaikum

Welcome to our Hijab Forum. Feel free to post a message. This Forum was created as a support group for Muslimahs. If you have any questiosn or comments and want support or answers from other Muslimahs you can post them in this forum. I am not vouching to have all the answers to anyones questions but as I get plenty of e-mails from muslimahs with problems on the job with hijab or her family is muslim but does not want her to cover I decided that a forum support group would benefit them as well as other muslimahs who have been through the same thing or are dealing with that issues that I did not have to deal with. Your advice, experience, or knowledge can help another muslimah along the way of the straight path.

Ma Salam

Wearing Hijab for first time

Hi i have decided to wear the hijab for the first time as I am at that point in my life where I understand the meaning.I worked in a professional role everyone has been supportative from work.
strangely some of my friends have been off with me one particular friend has been funny because she used to wear the hijab and now does not.She thinks that her mum will start to tell her off and because I am wearing it.
She called me a typical pakistani and was very rude to me I have been very upset as being a muslim she should have been more supportative but she has not been.
My heart is strong and I am going to wear it and start as I mean to go on

Mashallah, you are wearing hijab now. Keep your faith strong Layba and don't listen to other people. In the end, it is Allah who you have to please, not our friends or other mankind.
Proud of you!!!

Re: Wearing Hijab for first time

MasaAllah Layba I woud think another Muslim sister who use hijab would understand also and not react that way. Please do not let the negativety others stop you from hijabing. You should definitley tell your friend how you feel and tell her as a Muslim you expect her to understand and respect the religion we believe in. It also could be that your friend is jealous of your strength to cover and does not know how to deal with it. And why would her Mum tell her off because your wearing an hijab? Is she not Muslim also. Sometimes people try hard to fit into society the shed all aspects of their religion ( and shed hijab) but this is not Islam. This is their own insecurities and you should not let it bother you.
