George,
I liked your note about Louie. It must have been 1969, as Louie was not there in the 1960's. I know: I was and he was not. I always wondered who "Falling branch" was if Dick was "Little Falling Branch." The last year J. D. came down, Louie was, of course, with him. This was 1969. I was just crossing the camp parking lot to enter the staff area upon arrival and J.D. called me over to his cabin. He introduced me to Louie for the first time. Louie was just then coming back on staff after the absence of years.
Louie had incredible taste in a lot of areas. I talked to him about the theatre. He was knowledgeable, especially the things worth seeing.
We shall miss him.
Jim

Replying to: He introduced me to opera. La Boheme was the first. He played it on a phonograph in his cabin on the road behind the dining lodge in Wigwam. It was in the mid-sixties--I don't quite remember the year. The impression was lasting. He also gave me a copy of the Common Book of Prayer, trying to introduce this Baptist to a bit of graceful liturgy! Again, the impression was lasting. I'm still a Baptist, but I love opera and liturgy in worship!
