hello
I am currently try to recover from this ed. I have had such a tough time with the pain I get from keeping food down. I also have had some anxiety attacks. Has anyone else experienced this and does it ever get better?

Sometimes my anxiety lasts for days after I binged and didn't purge the food. It is a horrible feeling that only and ED sufferer can understand. There are times when I eat way more than I should have and I feel just fine, all most like a normal person! Other times I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown and I feel like my skin is crawling from the inside out. So, in a nutshell you are not alone. I'm not far enough along in recovery to beable to tell you if it gets better or not, through the grapevine I heard that it does. Dra |

Hi, I think as far as the physical side of things are concerned once your body becomes acustomed to the food, it will become easier. Although there will still be times when you feel as though you have eaten too much or the food doesn't settle right in your stomach but that's a part of everyday life. I've experienced both and the anxiety side for me varied, i used to become really anxious before eating and the extend of it all depended on the day and what food it was but with time i learnt techniques such as: breathing, taking my time, remembering things will calm down.etc i also used to doodle alot and i still right things down and compose poems to stress my emotions. I think it varies from person to person as we are all different. I can understand what you are going through though and hope you find this helpful. Stay Strong hun, Take Care. Steph XxXX |
