I am 18 and I suffer from chronic constipation. I take stool softeners and correctol, ex lax fleet enemas and NOTHING seems to work any more. What can I do. I strain so much I bleed.

Re: chronic constipation

I would suggest seeing a medical doctor. I'm assuming you have an eating disorder that has chronic laxative use and you haven't disclosed your secret yet so you don't want to go to the doctor and be found out?? Your life and health is more important than hiding the truth, this could be your open door to get help and recover. Maybe I'm totally off on this but either way you should see a doctor.

Re: chronic constipation

Please go and see a doctor ASAP -- what you are experiencing is not healthy.

It is important that you tell your doctor exactly what is going on, for how long, and also that you use certain products and that they don't work anymore for you. And in case you battle an eating disorder, make sure to also mention that to him/her aswell. Please don't be scared or ashamed -- in order for your doctor to really help you, to make a full diagnosis and to find a solution that works for you, he/she needs to know these things!
