Don't give up!!

If there is something you want to do grab hold of it and fight all the way until you get it, don't ever give up!

I want to share this little story.....

All through my recovery i have been wanting to do activities and go places without people worrying, nagging, telling me to eating.etc etc

One of my aims when i was in hospital was to be able to do the things i once enjoyed, again - (i produced a very long list) because before my ED i was sociable, up for a laugh, loved doing FUN things. When the anorexia took over a huge part of me disappeared - not just physically, inside of me too. I didn't know how to have fun anymore, ED was my life.

but.....Yesterday i went walking and not just any walking.....UP A MOUNTAIN with my friends. I had a GREAT time and lots of giggles along the way!! It was SOOOO amazing....

Not having people stopping me from going, watching over me or nagging constantly was really good!

Basically.....you can do anything if you put your positive mind to it! I am still fighting to find the lost parts of me and take care of MYSELF.

Please don't give up in your fight against this ED.
Keep standing strong!

Take Care

Re: Don't give up!!

You are soooo right!
When ED was my whole life, it broke me done to where it put me in the hospital. But after a lot of trials, I built myself up, and currently enlisted in the National Guard. I watch myself so I don't over exercise, but I'm eating well to build myself up.
I go to Recruit Sustainment programs once a weekend a month, and we do fun army drills, manuevers, and learn army basic knowledge. Yeah it tires me out a little, but I joined so I can keep stepping forward and look to see that the world is bigger than ED.

Re: Don't give up!!

OOoo, sounds like fun!

yup, making sure you don't over do it is a biggy!
Getting the balance right may prove difficult at times but taking bits back that your ED takes away is amazing.

To become aware of your limits too and know when you are tired.etc is important. This ensures that you don't slip back into ED ways of 'keeping very busy/doing alot/over exercising'.

Actually being in control of your life and not having ED control EVERYTHING is good! I'm not saying he's totally gone but to not be totally warped in the ED world is great!!
