Great new site
Compliments on the new web site, very impressive. Am looking forward to the new album and the Battersea Barge gig in December. |

Thanks Andy, you're officially our first ever visitor! See you in December. Phil |

Just to echo everything Andy said: web site, CD, Christmas gig - reasons to be cheerful, 1, 2, 3. Nice tribute to Jake Thackray, too. Which triggers a thought: how about a Jeays playlist? Jake and Jacques, obviously; Bert and Kurt, presumably; who else, I wonder? |

At last, a virtual lurking place for insomniacs/musicians/other dubious species...is it the cyber 'Harry's'? (Probably not. But that's the lazy kind of concept that gets thrown into the collective consciousness at this hour. No creative discipline after 2 a.m.!) Compliments on the new website, Mr J. Hopefully I'll be at the Barge with the bearded muso known to his friends as Luke Smith. Confusingly, his enemies use the same name for him but that's enemies for you... Bon nuit. |

This is VERY swish. Well done, Phil and Whoever. And those photos! A history in pictures of how a New Romantic became an old(er) romantic. Wonderful. Anyway congratulations on this and on the new album. With the reviews you've had so far, you'll be just fine ( they WERE real, weren't they??). As the first girl to post a message, do I win a prize? Hope you get a good balance on the gender ratio of 'posters' - otherwise these sites always seem to get dominated by blokes wanting to talk about amps....(runs away quickly) |

Loretta, PLEASE don't get him started on gender politics, you know what a sad old misogynist he is. You should try living with him... |

Re: They're talking aboutr Jake Thackray on "The Saturday Review" right now. Thanks for that Ian - I just had a listen on the Radio 4 website, very interesting. If anyone wants to hear it without listening to the whole programme, the Jake Thackray bit starts at 19 minutes and lasts about 5 minutes. |

What a very swish new site, I'm dead impressed! Dead impressed, too, with the new CD which arrived early on Saturday morning. I am now unable to get "Perry County" out of my head, which is no bad thing. There's not a right lot else in there, so the space needed filling. I'd urge anyone who has not yet done so to order a copy of "Mr Jeays" now, if not sooner! |

And now (right now) there's a 30 minute programme on Jacques Brel on Radio 4 - see http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/musicfeature/pip/womdz/ and listen again for the next 7 days via http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/ |

The programme was obviously made two years ago (it refers to 25th anniversary of Brel's death, and Pirate Jenny's is still at the Vortex). So don't bother to listen again if you heard it in 2003. There's a short contribution from Des de Moor and Robb Johnson gets a mention. |

Love the new site Phil. Looks marvellous. Loved seeing the old photos. Anyway, heres hoping you become a mega star (even more so than now) so that I can sell my collection of rare Philip Jeays recordings on E-Bay in the near future and make many pounds. Oh yes indeed. Toodle pip, Keith (Kiff) |
