gig requests?
Maybe this could be a thread on the forum to gauge where people are dying to get a gig (especially for those not in SE England)? My request: Glasgow! Big music scene here: no doubt there's good venues and a public. I'd certainly be in it! And hurray for the new site. :) Andreas |

Yes to that!! Those of us who first saw Philip up here in Scotland (Edinburgh Fringe) are suffering withdrawal symptoms. Also, are we up here in Inverurie (17 miles north of Aberdeen) Philip's most northerly fans? |

The problem, as ever, is money. If I were to travel that far with musicians they would need to be paid, and so unless there was a guaranteed amount it could end up costing me a fortune and I just can't afford it. If there isn't a guarantee the chances of making any money on the gig itself are limited, simply because no-one knows who the hell I am, so actually trying to get enough people to turn up to cover costs can be difficult (on a trip up north we played a gig in a pub function room to fan John Courouble, his mum and dad, and the landlord's four children!) Then there comes the problem of the venue - obviously living all the way down here I can't suss out venues up there, so it can be difficult (if you're only going to get a handful of people showing up you don't want to be in a venue that holds 200...) However, despite all this negativity, that's not to say I'm not up for it - but financially I'm just too poor at the moment to stand the cost. Any ideas gratefully received... Phil |

I live in Belgium, and I would love to see you here. besides, shouldn't you be doing some Brel tribute or something like that here in the country he came from? To help you with the payments I wil buy all your cd's when you're here. That is already 44 £? Have to start somewhere. Anyway, to come to Belgium, ask your friend Robb Johnsson some help. He knows some organizers here. Really hope to see you soon, Karel |

I would gladly play the cello anywhere with you, for no money at all. :) My piano skills may be post grade 8, but I'm sadly no match for your usual accompanist. Amazing pianist, he. |
