Here's some questions for everyone who uses this forum to complain, no matter what the complaint is.
What have YOU done for Tweedbank?
It's all very well blaming Councillor Parker, or the Community Council, or the organizers of the various groups (who give their time for free) - why don't YOU take an active part in helping to solve the problems that you see in Tweedbank?
We have a very good village here, but help is always needed by the organizations. When was the last time YOU went to a Community Council meeting for instance? Have you ever been to one except to complain?
Have YOU ever made an effort to go along and offer help to any of the groups?
Do you have children at Tweedbank school? Have you opted to attend the PTFA or put your name forward for election to the School Board? If not why not?
I know some of you reading this will already be helping and its not you I'm targeting, its those people that the only time you hear from them or see them is when they have a gripe. I have gripes as well at times, but act upon them, I have also supported a number of groups in the village over the years.
I'm sure this message will be controversial, with some people agreeing with what I have said and others thinking "How dare I make these remarks" but if it makes one person think that they could help Tweedbank in some way then I think it will have been justified.
So come on let's all pull together to make our village the best in Scotland  |
