Re: More surface finds From Palo Pinto County

nice finds, all recent or old finds?

Re: More surface finds From Palo Pinto County

They could be considered recent I found them since this summer after all the rain in the spring. the area is about 75 feet X 250 feet it is a small section in the corner of our property i am going to clear some more when I have the time. i have also found a small cigar box of snapped off bases.

Nice!

Re: More surface finds From Palo Pinto County

Looks like a few Paleo bases there. You might have a great spot to dig in!

Re: More surface finds From Palo Pinto County

Nice finds, and nice to see that colored flint instead of ' root beer '. Your doing a great job of finding, I've done some surfacing around Amistad. The soil still varies from thin to nil !! I eventually had some success with a common leaf rake, it's azazing how much a 1/16 of an inch of dust can hide !!

Re: More surface finds From Palo Pinto County

You've found some nice points there Leonard. SH had a good idea with the garden rake, it's worked for me before. He's right, you might be surprised what's just under the surface. It's certainly worth a try.

Re: More surface finds From Palo Pinto County

two of the pieces in the first picture look like clovis bases, next to the quarters, right side.... real nice finds.
