Hi i am trying to trace my hieet's who came from this area. i know of john hieet who was born apx 1766 who married elizabeth Basset at Bradwell/Broadwell, oxon in 1795 by licence. his father should be Robert Hiett who was born apx 1734 place unknown. Robert was a Yeoman and left aWill in 1794/5 and was also the churchwarden at stanton Fitzwarren in Wiltshire. He left land in Curbridge called Oathill to his son John who was born in Curbridge. I ahve been told that the Hiett's had strong connections with Curbridge and stanton in wiltshire and all Hietts from these area are related. I think that Robert's wife Mary moved back to curbridge after her husbands death in 1795 but cabn not be sure.
