not want to see the pictues anyway!

No tales of woe this month!

Anyone go to Alcester Festival a couple of

week-ends back? - well I though it was really

excellent, it was apparent last year that the new

look Redditch festival had potential and it

certainly lived up to it. The setting is great, a

really "quaint" little town, with some really good

pubs, one of which put on a Real Ale Festival, and

no "rip-off" beer prices which just lately seems

to be happening regularly at Folk Festivals (are

we all wealthy folkies I wonder?) The pub sessions

went really well and of the guests I was

particularly impressed with Viki & Trefor

Williams - who I am pleased to say I have managed

to get on the Bedworth Festival guest list, and a

young band Firebrand - these were terrific, if you

get the chance go to see them, do so! - I'm

currently trying to find a way of working them

into the Bedworth line-up.

We (Katherine, Sally-Ann & Myself that is)

had a great saturday last week-end when we were

invited to appear at a United Reform Church Pilots

all day concert event at Cadburys' World in

Birmingham. As well as having a good sing and

being really appreciated by the audience that had

travelled from all over the country we managed to

get a bit of chocolate to munch too - well as you

see most of us just had a bit of chocolate but

Sally-Ann came home laden with bags of the stuff!

playing music

sprouting from his Northumbrian roots, and with

influences from his travels in Europe and North

Africa,Andrew has cultivated an individual style

of playing, based on British folk music. His

interest in borders folk music was kindled at the

age of six by visits to his Belford school in

North Northumberland by piper and concertina

maestro Alistair Anderson. Two years' later the

Cadie family moved south along the coast to County

Durham and encountered the likes of Vin Garbutt

and Jez Lowe in local pubs & clubs. From

there, the Cadie route moved south again, this

time to Stafforshire, a meeting point for all of

Britainīs regional styles.

face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" color=#000000

fron that you would have originally seen, In

August we will be having a local singers showcase

Parker & Watts will now be doing the Christmas

Party (instead of appearing in September - would

you believe Neil double booked with his wedding

anniversary, you can imagine what Chris had to say

about that!) along with The Katherine Fear Band.

October our old friend Jon Harvison will coming
