Can anyone please tell me what the weather is like in SW Florida during early to mid January.

Thanks for the reply, David. Can you please be a bit more specific. eg approx temperatures, average rain, and whether the noseeums are active.

60 - 75 degrees, generally sunny, a bit windy, but little precipitation. Too cold for most Floridians to swim in the Gulf including my family and me. Noseeums minimal, if at all. Shelling will be good and perfect weather for jogging, bike rides to Dairy Queen, and tennis. Only real negative is dealing with the Yankees (northerners) and their poor driving habits.

We own week 1 and have found the weather to be very good. Usually in the mid to high 70's, and low 80's are not uncommon. In the 13 years we've been coming to Sanibel, we only had one year that I can remember that it was cool for most of the week (high 50's to low 60's). Never any bugs. Very few weddings.

For our family it is past hurricane season, past rain every day at 4 PM, more wind in spurts, fewer bugs and a fantastic shelling time, where the Gulf presents more shells, egg cases and sea weed (with small shells attached) than any other time of year.
If you are used to the North Sea swimming is also good.
