I quite agree. Unfortunately we cannot stop the resort from holding parties, but we can object when it affects the facilities of the members, which we are entitled to use.

We are already paying dearly for a seat at the pool.
And we just paid for our new covered seat areas.
Since budget time is comming up soon I wish others also would ask what our contributions to upkeep of the pool is this year.
It was listed as an expense up to a few years ago in our budget, but like other expenses, such as our cost for picking up the key in the front office and unit cleaning has also been bundled with total expense in a very largely clauded amount.
After all, our units are paying several hundred Dollars a week for each unit just for using our pool.

There is nothing wrong for paying pool upkeep, but it has climbed a lot the last ten years.

I have mentioned this each year, and hope others will remind the board to deal with more visible expense records in this next year's budget, where average cost
of maintenance fees has dropped tremendously in Florida.

I'm sorry to be so slow in replying to this post!! I talked to JR today about this matter. He said that a couple wanted to have a private cocktail party before their wedding rehersal. There was plenty of room for the people in the purgolas in one of the shaded areas and very few were asked to move the the other one.

Most if not all of the people in the wedding party were staying at Casa Ybel, so they were not "interlopers", but were paying guests and as a common courtesy were should have been able to have a small one hour private party at our 5 star resort.

The pool, pool bar and the entire deck area belongs to the resort, not the condominium associations. We do pay a fee for the use of these areas and we do share the capital expense of maintenance of these areas. Each FGH and IJK unis pays 1/74 of 1/2 of these costs. The condominimun agreement provided for an annual increase in the fees that the associations pays that would result in much higher fees than we are paying. Don't make waves!!!

I do remember the high projections of fees for the pool, but when "Mariner" sold the pools off from under us, I think the new pool owners realized they could hardly show and pass on any reasonable way of charging those then high predictions.
The Board showed good efforts in holding down that cost.
But today I do not see a clear reason for why our expenses are so invisibly presented with lack of detail within a few lines.
And that goes for our entire budget.

Tonight this is ridiculous - a private wedding party and the dj is louder than loud and the music is repetitive rap etc. Once a year we come here to enjoy and this is just terrible. Two nights in a row. Is there anything we can do to improve the service?

Are you kidding me? You and others cannot move your lazy butts for a couple of hours so that a young couple might have a nice evening by the pool? Your letter, if you chose to write one, should be filed under "ridiculous". I would venture to say you are angry with the world and have little compassion for those that are enjoying life.
