10 Pre-WWII Players Added to Veterans Committee Ballot

Allie Reynolds, Joe Gordon, Vern Stephens, Bill Dahlen, Wes Ferrell, Sherry Magee, Carl Mays, Mickey Vernon, Bucky Walters and Deacon White are the 10 players whose careers began before 1943 who will be included on the December 7th Veterans Committee ballot.

Stephens, Gordon, Dahlen, Magee, and White currently appear in the Baseball Evolution Hall of Fame, while the other five have each fallen off our ballot.

Re: 10 Pre-WWII Players Added to Veterans Committee Ballot

If Ferrell, Vernon, Walters, or Reynolds make the cut, I don't even see the point of having a Hall of Fame any longer.

If Ferrell, Walters, or Reynolds make it, then there is simply no excuse for leaving Blyleven, Morris, Stieb, or Cone out any longer.

If Ferrell getting into the Hall of Fame means that people will stop comparing Micah Owings and Carlos Zambrano to Babe Ruth, then I am all for it.

Re: 10 Pre-WWII Players Added to Veterans Committee Ballot

Here is the post-WWII ballot:

Dick Allen, Gil Hodges, Jim Kaat, Tony Oliva, Al Oliver, Vada Pinson, Ron Santo, Luis Tiant, Joe Torre, Maury Wills

Allen, Santo, and Torre were, of course, each unanimous honorees in the first year of Baseball Evolution balloting. The other seven have all fallen off our ballots.
