Personal Care Products Online Database

http://cosmeticdatabase.org/

I wanted to share this online database of personal care products. Based on the listed ingredients, it rates the product's hazard level (on a scale of 1-10), as well as what types of hazards the ingredients are linked to.

Does anyone know of a similar type of website for household products?

Although it is somewhat obvious which types of products are more/less "hazardous" it's still interesting to see the ratings!

Re: Personal Care Products Online Database

I was reading an article on SF Gate about the interesting Clorox & Sierra Club "partnership" on Clorox's new line of "Green Works" products. These two sites were mentioned. There is some info about cleaning products, but they aren't databases that you can search.

Gotta love answering my own post! HA!

Re: Personal Care Products Online Database

This is what I found that may be helpful:
You can check out many product ingredients online. (Many of these products will not list ingredients on their bottles): http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/. After you discover the ingredients in your soaps or household products, look to see how they hold up to the recommendations at The Union of Concerned Scientists website page:

I hope that helps!
