We know what to do with plastic shopping bags, but what about the produce bags, the bread bags, the cereal bags?
Whole Foods will take any plastic bags in their recycling bin in the front....at least the San Mateo Whole Foods does. I have confirmed it with their Marketing person and their customer service desk several times just to make sure. I save up our bags in one big bag, use some for cat poo, re-use others for produce, then recycle the rest at Whole Foods.
They can recycle some many of those small extra bags, but not all. They throw out the ones they can't recycle. They contract with a recycling company in the area that recycles various types of plastics and plastic bags.
