I was at Whole Foods today and I was trying to get sugar with a 'no GMO' label. The only one that had mention of no GMO was the 365 brand of organic sugar....believe it or not.
This is what the lable says: "Whole Foods Market private label products are formulated to avoid genetically engineered ingredients. U.S. law does not allow the use of genetically engineered ingredients or seed in products labeled as organic."
I guess this is true right now and subject to change soon. The OCA has listed a take action on organic genetically engineered sugar coming to market soon. Too many lobbiests getting involved I suppose to force changes in organic standards?
