Traffic Light Update - Sunday May 9th 2021

This is based on the most recent data available for Lower Tier Local Authorities (LTLAs) and their equivalents in the devolved administrations.

If the cases per 100K are greater than 50, the traffic light system recommends schools are open only to a very few children. These authorities are indicated in shades of red or black......

Given that there are asymptomatic cases in addition to symptomatic cases, and the numbers only include those who actually get tested, the case rates below are underestimates........

Anything in red on the map indicates a 7-day case rate above 50 where schools should be closed except for key workers' children and for those who cannot study at home. This is currently around 3.4 per cent of authorities.........

Data is taken from the most recent update from Travelling Tabby on Twitter........

Above 50 (light red on map)

13 out of 380 authorities (3.4 per cent) in the UK should now have schools closed according to our original traffic light system (apart from children of key workers and others who cannot study at home)

Above 100 (mid-red on map)

2 out of 380 authorities (0.5 per cent)

Green on the map indicates <10, where we recommend schools are open...

And Yellow indicates between 10 and 50, where we recommend blended learning (a rota system).......

The Zoe Symptom Tracker App from Kings College London is currently estimating about 1150 new ppl a day reporting symptoms and about 15.5K active cases.....

Note: cases detected from private tests (as in many Universities) are not included in the Governments official figures......

Please use our interactive map to search for your local authority.......
