Corner tangs

I have always heard Texas was big on corner tangs. Is this true? Does anyone have pictures to post?

Us "Austindiggers" meaning the 4 of us, haev been digging together for years.. Got thousands of artifacts all together''No Corner tangs...

A base tang now and then.. But No Hide ner hair of a corner tang..

Dug 1 week apart same Marcos zone, within 8 feet of each other. Rocky branch, Bell county. Larger is 6 inches. YOU BET THERE KOSHER!

HERE'S ANOTHER FROM THE SAME PROXIMITY, THAT A ******* BROKE AND SOLD TO ME. THIS ONE WAS ABOUT 15 FEET FROM THE OTHERS.

Thanks Mike and Pat. Thats what I am talking about.
Do you know what period the tangs come from? Age wise?
I have always been interested in these tangs. Were they mostly used as knifes or scrapers? I figures they were from the way they were mounted.

Mark, they usually occur in context with Marcos points, placing them in the 600 bc -200 ad range. But they also can occur in late Castroville horizons - early Ensor periods. Early ones, made by Castroville folk, will exhibit mostly heavy precussion flaking with light edge retouch.
