Re: Family Fun! - NEW PAGE ADDED !!! Dig for Diamonds! GOLD! Rubies! Emeralds! Sapphires!
Hey Michelle. What a great idea for a new page. I saw the trilobite dig on the travel channel and have always wanted to go. Now you have given me a resource to plan my trip. The diamond dig in Arkansas sounds like fun as well. Thanks for putting in the time to compose this list. GREAT IDEA!!!

If diamonds AND flint is your interest, here's a bonus. About 1.5 miles from the diamond dig is an indian village with related dig site, museum, store for auth artifact sales, surface hunt area. more info
CADDOTC@ALLTEL.NET
At that site you will find links for the GEMSTONE MINE. Gem and mineral dig/hunt. City of Murfreesburg points of local interest. Happy trails..SH

Great new Page Michelle.
A friend of My Mom's sent me a large opal inside of a rock. You wouldn't happen to know how they extract opals from rock do Ya?
Thanks

I "thought" australian opals were SLICED paper thin and glued to an apropriate sized, flat backed clear crystal "stone". Before getting out the Dremel better contact one of those mineing web sites for the straight story. From one of those TV treasure shows dealing with opal dig, they mentioned that SOME of the N. Amer. opal was far supierior to auzzi's.
