Anyone know what this "BONE" might have been used for???

Does anyone have ANY idea what this might have been used for??

Found by Nathan B.  In austin tx.  He was wondering if anyone
had any idea what

it might be for. Please post your comments here and I will be sure
that he gets them!

Thanks!

Michelle

Re: Anyone know what this "BONE" might have been used for???

Before offering an utterly fantastic guess of it's use, how about some more details not possible from the pic.
Was it a surface find or actually dug out of soil producing other artifacts??
Is that the skull attatch area just east of the fork??
Can you tell if its a natural Y buck growth or has it been definetly shaped [worked]
Does it have any age "look and feel" to it, like from March 2005 and rodent nibbled ??

Re: Anyone know what this "BONE" might have been used for???

is there any sign of scraping in the y? possibly a shaft straightner????

Re: Anyone know what this "BONE" might have been used for???

Thats what I thought Larry. I saw the fork and where they come together looks rounded as if it were a shaft straightener or final smoothing.
