Descriptive Measurements Comment

Yesterday, my recurring digging fever was good to me! I found a killer archaic knife made of quality translucent root beer flint (grade # 9). It measures exactly 4 & 15/16 inches long by 1.5 wide with exceptional fine flaking. Since it is so close to 5.0 inches,I'm tempted to refer to it as a 5" knife. Although I am a professional person by trade,I still perfer to use inches when looking at and describing artifacts instead of centimeters/ milimeters, the latter of which usually appears on papered items. Just curious what your opinions and preferences are?

Re: Descriptive Measurements Comment

Hi Mike- well first of all, I'll say congrats on your big blade find. I measure my points in inches too, I'm from the old school and still live in the good old U.S.A., so inches works for me. Take Care, Hunter John

Thanks for the input Jhon, glad to know there is another from the old school! Best to you!
