Hello all ,Dang I love this place.Ijust moved to austin ,about a year ago.Started finding stuff from the git..We live in oak hill any huntin tips?
THANX
Hello fossilfan. I'm very new to finding indian artifcts. The area I have been hunting is in southwest Texas close to Mexico. I don't know anything about digging, but for surface hunting look for the sun reflecting off the flint on the ground. I have found about 5 or 6 arrowheads or points doing this. Your terrain my be different, I don't have any grass or weeds to hide them because we are in the desert.
Shoal creek, right in the heart of TX [ 10th street ] good fossils. Walnut creek good for fossils and flint. Somewhere on this web site's front page is a link to creek walkin and some fossilin.
Re your last question, You will know beyond a doubt when you find something worked by the hand of man ! !
o.k.I wanna get all the newbie stuff out there.Whats the diff.between,cobbles,nods,etc...also if the flint piece ripples in a break.is that a stone to stone or natral break.
