tiny arrowhead

i found a tiny little goody of an arrowhead...its about the size of a dime maybe even smaller...i was wondering why would they even want to make arrowheads that small? and if it was for hunting small game like rabbits and birds? i can send a picture if it helps me get an answer.

Re: tiny arrowhead

Nothing really unusual about that, I have many that size, and yes they were made for birds and small animals such as field mice.

Re: tiny arrowhead

can we still see a pic of it? thanks

Re: tiny arrowhead

From what I have heard about the smaller points is that they where used on different size game. The idea is that the point would break off in the animal causing extensive enternal damage. More so than what a larger point would do. The larger points have a tendency of not penetrating deep enough or falling out and not causing enough damage to bring down the game. I have talked with a bow-hunter friend of mine and he pretty much confirmed what I have read. What I think is that it is all speculation and we will never really know. Which makes all our opinions good.
