Super interested on going on a dig, but i have some questions

Hey all, I found this website and was excited to see so many people with a similar interest in arrow head collecting. I am planning a trip this summer to dig at some places in Texas. But i was wondering how it all works, if I find a point, is it illegal if i take it, or what if I want to sell it in the future, how does that all work? any advise would be great

Re: Super interested on going on a dig, but i have some questions

Hello and welcome SUE!!!!!!

it is fine to dig, on private property, for artifacts here in the big ol' wonderful place that Texas is

Find youself a PayDig in the PAYDIG SITES section of the main webiste and have yourself a time!

Keep what you find and maybe instead of selling it you cherish it forever!!!!

Or sell it on ebay its your choice ! heh But, also of us don't sell points.. I personally do not.. But I don;t frown on it either

Dig.. get dirty and take a little piece of Texas home with you

WELCOME to the board!

Re: Super interested on going on a dig, but i have some questions

thanks for your feed back. What about if i find something not on private land, how does that work?

Re: Super interested on going on a dig, but i have some questions

WEll..

People find things all the time.. Its not illigal to collect in texas

I quess you can go looking for who it belongs to.. ohh.. wait a minute... Umm.. I am sure that they won't be available..

Get a ok from the land owner is always the best bet. Either way, its not illigal in texas to collect indian artifacts

AND don't go creek walkin unless you want to get arrested!

Thats all State stuff.. and a no no

And there is always the gettign SHOT thing..

Just get a OK or goto a pay dig.. Which are where you will find what you are looking for!
