Back in the early 70's,wow I'm getting old, I had the opportunity to walk a creek in Kendall Co., was looking for fossils and came upon a rock overhang, I guess a camp for many years because of all the flint around it. One of my buddies suggested that we scratch around in the fine dirt and under about 6" inches was a ledge, the snake effigy was just sitting there like it had been placed upon a shelf and left. The big blade was given to me when I was in High School in Abilene, I was doing carpentry work for a guy that ran into some hard luck and couldn't pay me so he asked if would take the blade in exchange for the weeks work, about $80 back then. I was still living at home so money was no problem. I kept it wrapped up in an old towel and finally decided to mount it with some other finds. Unfotunately I never did ask where he had found it or how he came to have it. So in other words.. I WILL WORK FOR FLINT!!HAHA
