Heartbreaker Castroville and Pedernales

I'm going to send these two heartbreakers to Dr. Gomer. Can't wait to show everyone the repaired version!

Re: Heartbreaker Castroville and Pedernales

Hi Digger, That Perd should be worth the effort of restoration, the design / symetry / workmanship is beautifull.

The sq. eared Castroville is also impressive and might be clasified as "heartbreaker" in cent TX...

I'm thinking where Dr. Gomer lives they might tend more towards a "hail Mary"

Re: Heartbreaker Castroville and Pedernales

Digger, it's me again. After I closed the above words I went looking for some restored pics..

If you want to see what your Perd fix might look like, there is a very close example of size and basic design on Randy's pay dig { front page, right side link ] Click "page 6" then left side of first pic.

While there, scroll a bit further down, there are two Gomer examples that Randy states where 50% restored so there could be hope for your 75% hail Mary ! !

Re: Heartbreaker Castroville and Pedernales

What county were those dug Dan? The base of the Castroville looks strikingly similar to one I found in Kerr county a couple weeks back...almost to the point the same guy made them.
