PECKERS BACK...WHOO-HOO

The ROT BIKER'S RALLY must be over, see some right up to date updates on the front page;;;

Next time you see that great drill it will have a tip on it, its from a quality made lancolette type blade, 3 1/4 inch as is...4.00 inch tomorrow! Those are wild grapes [ the green round things, not the flat whiteys ] Not quite ripe enough for Maison Michelle blanc but lots of tasty juice, just munch N spit !

Your lookin at 9000 years of Texas history right there in Caseyd's mitt. What a great find. Also note those CLEAN hands...
How does he DO that ?

Re: PECKERS BACK...WHOO-HOO

Just noticed that great Montell update from Charles G.

Randy's had some neat exotics recently but might this one be a wee closer to a PERD ?

Pkr, You gotta get out more !

Re: PECKERS BACK...WHOO-HOO

Good finds, are these your first since the foot long Perd ?

Re: PECKERS BACK...WHOO-HOO

oh well sorry michelle,

i tried....

Re: PECKERS BACK...WHOO-HOO

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Montell's!!!!!!

Re: PECKERS BACK...WHOO-HOO

ABSOLUTLY INCREDIBLE......
One good allnight bikers blast and we get a huge update, should happen more often [ the blasts that is ! ]

One pic is worth 1K words so just allow me a few mear
comments.

A lot of the pics start in mid May onward and are Part of the "springtime in TX series"

Nobody has to be retired to do a lot of digging....it's a matter of PRIORITIES. Work should just be a fill in for days when it's not possible to dig, like on torential monsoon days or blizzard conditions.

Special for creek walkers, the two pics obviously under water...Wouldn't that be a sight to walk up on !

Bout 3/4 the way down on right, an "unusual" bird pt drill. Thats from DJ's place in W TX. Most of the drill bit itself is restored but the break seemed to point that way [ pun intended ]

There are 2 pics of "logs in the woods" with not a flake of flint visible.....also hardly visible is a pretty new fawn [ deer ] nestled btwn the logs. Hard to see even with the necked eye...Two ears show on the larger closeup.

What the hell's TOMATOES doing in a flint show ?? Thats almost as bad as bean sprout pics. And why is the picture upside down [ are you hangin by your toes ?]

That IS a non-digging visit to Camp Live Oak last month. Thats Butch of Butch N Joyce reknown. Notice that big poster behind Butch holding the frame...Leakey TX is a favorite oasis for bikers [ motor bikes that is ] and CLO is a very popular stopping place to "go jump in the creek"
Also notice the closeup of the frame, I thought that was a really inovative presentation of broken bases to form a smooth outine.

So thanks for the WHOO- HOOS Pecker, very nicely done.

Re: PECKERS BACK...WHOO-HOO

Saw all the white points. Is that from heat or just natural patination? Yeah that Plainview bout gave me a heart attack. At first I thought it was a Clovis. Went back the next weekend with Hal and James. Of course those two knuckleheads found a couple relics and all I found was a lot of dirt.

Re: PECKERS BACK...WHOO-HOO

Hi Case, Re those mighty whiteys......Its basically the full sunlight ultra-violet effect "bleaching" out the natural pigmentation just as sure as other exposed items like patio umbrellas and house paint !

It's kind of an interesting thought provoker....The bleaching starts pretty quick depending on the makeup of the siliconised makeup....The purest white might have taken YEARS to get that way so it was in plain sight for anyone walking by. Why didnt somebody pick it up ?? Was worked flint just so common that it was not bending over to pick up??

On the other hand, the vast majority of the gorgeously colored flint might never have seen a single day of sun exposure, being "covered" from day one.

Re fantastic Plainview find then finding nothing the following week....thats quite the normal process after a " find of a lifetime ". Some diggers may go for many months without finding even a broken tip.

Just the payback system !

Re: PECKERS BACK...WHOO-HOO

You got a couple killer blades in that update Hal, congrats.
