Re: A good two days at Frio River Landing, May 2008
D, you could have saved some typing time if you just noted the date with
this posting, even a blind man could feel where tailgate flint comes from
Great variety and enough to keep the enthusiasm high even towards the "end"
I'm still lookin for the diamonds lost in the crowd of large flint displays ! Even though that
oblique shot angle is a challenge
I think I found some carats
I'm lookin at the largest lump of flint on the whole gate. . . . . isnt that a BASE TANG
Never mind the pointy end is missing for now, just make an imaginary frame out of a
coat hanger to visualise possible original size.
That might be a Texas record size for a BT found in TX.
The base and notches seem so stupidly small [ what good are they for hafting such a huge
slab of flint ] Their "cute"
And what are you calling the piece of flint below and left of the two Angusturas Montell with
elephantitis ?
There is so much translucent flint at that site, I would think just washing them would be like opening
packages on Xmas morn

Darrell, very good show for two days digging. AS soon as deer season is over and they open up again for digging Im going to try it out. By the way, after talking to you about wiggle picks, I finally broke down and ordered a James Kemp pick. Small world. As it turns out, I went to school with old James back in Pottsville Texas
