I just got back from a week long deer hunting trip to Sanderson and it has been a while since I have posted, so I thought I would put these pics on here. My main focus on this trip was hunting deer instead of arrowheads, so I only surface hunted for about an hour and a half and did no digging. I also got a nice 10 point mule deer.
This is what I found on the surface near the middens. The top left one a broken Frio? The next one a broken Paisano?
This one kind of reminds me of the perforator that Hal found out here.
It also has a broken point at the bottom and on the top left as well. I'm guessing they made it into a scraper after the points broke off. What do you guys think?
I'm not sure if the bottom right one was anything or not. Does it look like a scraper?
I've seen this kind of mark on flint before. Is it from an antler and what were they trying to do?
My cousin has some pictures of it before it was quartered up. Here is a pic after. The mule deer in southwest Texas don't get as big as they do in places like Colorado. We also saw one about twice this size that got away.
Be they ever so humble, The're a nice bonus for a primary food gathering
safari. Be nice if someday you find a complete unusual perforator to prove
that the brokes really have a possibility.
