We've e-mailed eachother a few times. But every time I find a new point I use his website as a reference guide. Do you know when he's going to put new updates on his site? He told me over the summer that he'd have updates in the fall. I'm anxious to see some new stuff.
The biggest one was putting down my oldest dog today.
He must have had had a stroke over night this morning his whole left sode did not work poor guy must have had a stroke or something.
Life goes on. Not the way I had planned on spending today with my bride.
I do have some broken rocks but none I am attatched to like having the same dog or friend for 16 years.
When We lived in Chesterland Ohio he would drag home Deer and put them at the front door. Most of the time it was just the hind quarter.
Just a sad day around here. Crying in my beer.
Keep digging.
This is the BIGGEST [ and heaviest worked flint I have found ]
The heartbreak part comes in because the original creator did not spend another 12 minutes on it
to make a more delicate point.
[ as it is, it's just a nicely shaped preform ]
I didn't mean size when I said biggest. Still, those are definitely some good heart breakers. Thanks for the posts. Anybody else? I know Michelle knows how to post pictures. Hal can probably post one of his more serious ones too.
Mo, That sky shot through the obsidion is gorgeous. Gotta squint close to see those Calif tang nubs
Any pieces of Paleo look great but to have a real olympic set you need to did deeper in the bucket...
The two shown are nicely plated Bronze and silver..
You need a GOLD
OOOooops, Sorry DJ, I was getting ahead of you, your NEXT series will probably be distance and weight catagory
The top point in the new pic below shows my very best heartbreaker CORNER TANG. I'll be sending it to Dr G for restoration soon, meanwhile I have outlined the
missing potion in wire frame. . . .
The point I'm holding in the lower part of the pic is a STEALTH PLAINVIEW, Only the base is slightly nicked
but its still 4 inches long, a great heartbreaker to any paleo frame
Great heartbreakers guys. I will never forget the first real good brokey that my buddy found. He was only a couple of days into digging and was just crushed that the best point he had ever seen could be broken. It took a week to convince him that this happens to the best of us, and that he should get used to the disappointment. It is truly rare to find a g10 quality point that is "perfect". I will try and post it but my worst heartbreaker was the back of a clovis found on my own land. It was the only paleo artifact found in a terrible bulverde/nolan camp.
this is my biggest heartbreaker this plus about 70 more g10 points were stolen when my house was burgularized about 15 years ago 20 years worth of digging up in smoke word of advice get a vault i did. you cant tell much from the picture but there was a 4 5/8 drill.5" stura,8"blade 5 1/2" cornertang, plus many more
Re the "color" confusion. . . . When Mo first posted his finds on DEC 18, scrolling down the posting, the first paleo base was a bronze as bab's shoes, then more scroll, the NEXT Paleo was pure silver. . . .
I immediatly thought it was an Olympics metal take off [ 1st place GOLD - 2nd Silver - Booby prize Bronze ]
So anything in was requested.
Well we're back on track now. . . Mo just posted a 4th place. . .JADE perforator
Ahhhh! The clue bird has landed. I'll admit I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes but I didn't catch your drift.
In that case,...how 'bout these:
CLOVIS
or
or
I guess you'll have to disqualify these 'cause technically they are not heartbreakers, but they are golden.
