Plainview?

I just checked out texaspoints.com and there is a beautiful piece shown as the point of the week. They list it as a plainview. I know pictures don't do justice, but it looks more like a nice biface, maybe a Friday?

Re: Plainview?

I saw that the other day and thought the same thing. It kinda looks like paleo flaking in the middle of the point but the grinding is not right, the edge wear and basal thinning doesn't look right, and I've never heard of mastic on a 12,000 year old point. But like you said, maybe the photo doesn't do it justice.

Re: Plainview?

Dr. Tom Hester saw this point and suggested it was rebased. I talked to Shannon and he was impressed with the point, so I'll suggest the pics don't do it justice. Booner was quite happy with it also. The point is 3 1/4". I do know it was screen dug (by invitation) with Todd Chism.
