Re: First mano find and first pics posted

What a classic shapped kitchen appliance !
That bottom pic really shows the well defined wear lines, it also shows how much stone dust went into some foods [ combined with the matate grit,] it's no wonder they had no toothenamal above the gumline at age 32 !

Found diggin or surfacing ?

Re: First mano find and first pics posted

My dad has a 30 X 30 pen for wild hogs he traps. There are no hogs in the pen now. I was leaning against the top of the pen Friday and saw the mano laying on the surface that had apparently been uprooted by hogs in the past. I wish I knew where to dig on this place. Probably 10 arrowheads and a very good corner tang knife have been found in the close vicinity of where I found the mano.

Re: First mano find and first pics posted

How about a few pic's of the cornertang to show us?

Re: First mano find and first pics posted

Good story Steve, I had envisioned you stubbing your toe on it as you were walking over a small hummock [ mound ] made out of fire rock & flint flakes !

So now your sure the ancients were on the property, keep lookin for their gathering place [ Or, keep building more hog pens !]
