I.D. Help

now that I figured out the posting of pics, thanks for the directions michelle, here is an artifact that I need help to ID.
I found it surface hunting in a plowed field in williamson county about a quarter mile from a creek. It seems to be made out of some sort of tan chert.
I was thinking maybe it was some type of cultivation tool or something, I don't know. Any help would be appreciated

Re: I.D. Help

Eric, I am going to go out on a limb a little bit. Amerindians were clever, observant and resourceful people. The Georgetown area is not known for indian agricultural activities. Those folks were for the most part, hunter-gathers. Without holding the piece in my hand i would say that it was a naturally-shaped geofact that was picked up and modified by an Amerindian for whatever purpose he or she had in mind. That modification transformed your piece from a geofact to an artifact. Its a good piece.

Re: I.D. Help

I appreciate the input. I have asked several other people and no one seems to know what it is.
Anyways I am glad to have found it.
Thanks again.
