My attempt at flint knapping. I used a piece found at T.J.'s. Still having a hard time getting them flat, but I think I picked up enough flint to last me a while. If anybody's got tips.......There's no pressure flaking, don't know how to just yet.

Chris Their are some excellent videos on U TUBE on how to flint knapp and their 5 part series with with some real good nappers and they all have an e-mail address and some have web sites. Just inter flint knapping and they will pop up

It looks like you got the rite ideal. when you have got a rough preform worked getting long THIN flakes is the key set up and strike platforms below the centerline. you need plenty of flint to practice on. It just takes time to learn how to hold the pice at the rite angle and hit with presision. After you have thoes basic skills [percushion flakeing] pressure flakeing is pretty easy.

Flo, Those points are awesome. While at the Bandera site, I told T.J. and another sifter that I was interested in flint knapping. They threw me every piece of flint they found, I think I'll be set for a while. Thanks though. Do you sell the points you make?

I checked youtube for flint knapping videos, there's a ton of em. Thanks Rick. I might post more if it improves.
