BYRON K. found these on his recent

Can anyone enlighten up to

Looks to have some great

Re: RIO BRAVO PAYDIG - FINDS FROM BYRON K. - NEED IDENTIFICATION PLEASE!

Not real savey onthe digging lingo but it is not ground.

Re: RIO BRAVO PAYDIG - FINDS FROM BYRON K. - NEED IDENTIFICATION PLEASE!

Thanks for the help there Michelle. I was leaning towards Dalton also. There are so many that look like this.

Re: RIO BRAVO PAYDIG - FINDS FROM BYRON K. - NEED IDENTIFICATION PLEASE!

clovis or angostura ??

Re: RIO BRAVO PAYDIG - FINDS FROM BYRON K. - NEED IDENTIFICATION PLEASE!

The one on the right kinda looks like a ballpoint pen.

Re: RIO BRAVO PAYDIG - FINDS FROM BYRON K. - NEED IDENTIFICATION PLEASE!

I'll let the one on the right go at a good price any tackers

Re: RIO BRAVO PAYDIG - FINDS FROM BYRON K. - NEED IDENTIFICATION PLEASE!

That looks like it might be a St. Mary's Hall. Hester has added that type as a mix between the Plainview and Angostura. A bunch were found in the Wilson Ck Sandpit.

Re: RIO BRAVO PAYDIG - FINDS FROM BYRON K. - NEED IDENTIFICATION PLEASE!

ST MARY'S HALL, Thats interesting Brian, A new type to look for !
In the pic on the left, it looks like some really impressive serations, Not on one on the right .
Optical [ photographic ] illusion ?

Byron, IF that is really a new type, Mr Overstreet could be interested in listing it in his
latest book [ better hurry ] due out this fall.
It will immortalise your name in the front credits.

At the end of a long, slow diggin day, I've been known to utter the "Dan's prayer" for a final find.
Now maybe I'll throw in a Hail Mary Hall !

Re: RIO BRAVO PAYDIG - FINDS FROM BYRON K. - NEED IDENTIFICATION PLEASE!

Yes it is serrated from the base to the tip on both sides. Thanks to all for the imput this is pretty interesting being kinda new to this stuff. keep um coming.

Re: RIO BRAVO PAYDIG - FINDS FROM BYRON K. - NEED IDENTIFICATION PLEASE!

The base kind of throws me off because it's a Paleo-style base in some respects. But I beleive it to possibly be a Pandora knife, although I've never seen a serrated Pandora before. Or in a best case option, it could be a extremely large Dalton.

Angview

Re: RIO BRAVO PAYDIG - FINDS FROM BYRON K. - NEED IDENTIFICATION PLEASE!

A pic that might be a little more clear that could show the flaking...or possible basal grinding would be very helpful in correctly identifying.

Re: RIO BRAVO PAYDIG - FINDS FROM BYRON K. - NEED IDENTIFICATION PLEASE!

No grinding= Darl blade. They come in all shapes, folks. jmo
