Just in, boerne show negatives still drying in the dark room. Only able to do one pic right now but at least its a complete overall shot to give everybody
a good idea of the layout.
Left the Kirby at the hospital and hot shotted to the show. The dealers said you'll had just left. Was hoping to run into you. Missed Mike there but had 6 other dealers tell me my Perdiz is a token notch, and the other oddball was a gun flint. Bill authenticated it, but was wanting Dwain to also. But he must have stepped out after we got there and hadn't returned by the time we left. Mabbe catch him at Lulling.
Did get Pat Evans to take a pic. of the Perdiz and she is supposed to post it on Tx. Cache. Bill has seen other notched Perdiz points but they had two notches, one of each side. Brush country Indians probably weren't as energetic, figured one would do.
Te, yeah, we may have been really close to a meeting. We were a bit late arriving.
Then were longer than usual due to interesting flint N things. To say how close. . . I swung by Dwains hangout and he was not there [ as you reported ]
Mike not there, maybe he hit an important level at the dig. . . OR. . . broke both legs !
With Mel's new interest in dirty hands, do you know if he made it ?? I'm sort of refering to the Nacho table [ NO, , , not at the food court, the one with the flint !] One of the most spectacular displays at the entire show. . . .
TWO FULL DISPLAY FRAMES AND A RESERVATION BOOK !
Matter of fact, I took a picture of the Nacho table while I was in the waiting line. . . .it's not close enough to see the flint clearly [ have to see Mlle's latest updates, frt pg ] but gives an idea of the frenetic interest .. . . . ;
I'm thinkin we may even have passed going through the front door ! Wish we had arranged an unobtrusive identity code [ like a white gardinia in the lapel]
. . . OR. . . better yet, I could have been walking around with the Penguin on my shoulder. . .
and YOU [ just back from the cleaners]. . . A BARREL
ON SUSPENDERS !
Mel called right about the time we were leaving and couldn't make it. Wife had to work last night and he had yardmonkeys scattered all over the place. I called him when we got back and had to rub it in a little. Palmer said you had just left as we got to his table. We're making the Lulling show in May and see if we can meet up with some of you guys. More fun talking face to face then back and forth on computers.
Looks kinda like smoky quartz. Spent some time with David and his rocks at the Boerne show. Reminded me of the old days when I used to do lapidary work. Got that old itch to cut a few,dop them up and made bolo ties. Who wears bolo ties anymore?
Don't know about the last pic. Nice rocks.
Here's another shot of the show, Lee, Geo & Delta Dawn blocking more of the landscape.
Another pic of Lee's shirt, In front of Hershel Harper's WICHITA TRADING CO tables.
Hershel carries a large inventory of absolutly top line reproduction masters.
Most of the obvious points in the pic are repos. The fact that the immage is blurry is no big deal because asside from exotic materials, the flaking is so fine , each individual point would have to be done in Macro.
The Geo rocks may well have come from David's table as noted by Te, a huge variety Geofactfan type goods !
LEE, Whats a hot shot like Dwain doing hanging around a burned out site like Chrisners ?. . . .Tee ~ Hee !
Good report, I wont press you for pics, Fraid springtime in TX skinny dipping does not meet the
" flowers " motif !
Never too early to get up another great selection of " door prizes "
May I suggest putting the arm on ANY bank for a foreclosed HOUSE. They should be happy to get rid of that toxin !
So instead of a used Transients shirt for a BOOBY prize this year. . . it will be a house !
Hal & Te, was not able to make the Borne show, had another cave gating job to do in Round Rock,Tx. that week-end. I also did feel that te's perdiz was a token notched piece as well, glad to hear you got it confirmed. Got to meet Eric and his wife (posters on this site)while I was gone, really great young couple! Back at the ranch now and looking forward to more digging, but planning to do the lulling show in may.
Plan to be there at Lulling also. I'll bring the perdiz and two (gun flints?) and let you put your professional opinion on them. I'd like to know that's exactly what one and possibly both are. I'm always leary about identifying an artifact that is not within the normal realm of local finds.
