Since we were talking about fossils the other day I figured I would post a couple pics of some of the types I find and drag home. I threw in some teeth and petrified wood also. SH, I put the one red fossil like your mano and a brown one simular to it. Mine are just fossils from the river. The big one by itself is about 14 inches across. Enjoy.
Top center one looks like a starfish. I have some fossils that I picked up in westTx. around Ft. Stockton. I thought it was a sea urcin but was told by one of the locals that it's a starfish. Good finds.
the two in the top row are the same, one is just more beat up than the other. I thought they were sea urchins as well. It's hard to see from the pic but you can see the skeleton on both of them pretty well.
Fossils N flint, if your going to bring home fossils from every surface hunt
your going to need a large backpack [ and a bigger house !]
What county are your finds from ?
eric, in your stated fossil hunting area, your bound to come across hame of that solid grey mudstone
material. Thats Eagle Ford formation. fossification from lots to none ! big variety too.
