by the way, does anybody have any idea what 2a or 8 are? thanks

Re: recent surface finds

#8 looks like a plainview. JW-James

Re: recent surface finds

Howdy boys, interesting finds. Since JW identified the tough one, I'll go out on
the controversial limb myself.

That 2A has got some quality flaking and just the damage you would expect from throwing at a Jackrabbit!
And missed ! Broken tip that snapped off base.
Looking real close, one could imaging seeing the lovely hint of the SCOTTSBLUFF's Non barbs.

Busted 2B GOWER

#1 might be a preform but anything that big, with a base like that I always think of the ADENA family.

There was some pretty old people living on that property .

Re: recent surface finds

I like #7, fits well in the hand, but I have a soft spot for the big choppers.

As close as we could figure, #10 is a Wells and #11 might be a La Magra....not sure really.

Re: recent surface finds

ahemmm.... Almagre

Re: recent surface finds

The 2A item look's like it has some very nice paleo flaking, look's like collateral flaking to me.
The 8b item look's like a Golondrina & somewhat like a Plainview also. Some of the 1st 10 or so tool items look like Clearfork gouge's.

Re: recent surface finds

Btw...the paleo point (#8) was found <5 miles from Turner-W site, in case that helps clear up any confusion.
