can someone help me id this point.. I've never found one this color before..it didn't look like petrified wood to me. We have this red rock all over... just never thought I'd find a point made from it.

mabey early triangular has long basel flakes and looks serrated

proper scale would be helpfull, thats an odd scrap of wood it's sitting on, no
obvious edge cracks.

Dont know type but also consider that that long broken
end might be taperering to a drill form !

yes I'm in Texas... this was found in 20 mins outside of bastrop. Winchester TX... yeah sorry about the pic.. it is a crappy camera phone... every time i leave the digital at home, i find something.. i bring it with... nothing~..lol

this is the best pic i got of it.. I'll see if i can take a "macro" of it this coming weekend.
