I was just getting ready to chunck this hunk of flint core up by the big tree yesterday. . .
A last closer look showed what might have been a worked " drill base " found two other drill bases in the same area, no big deal.
To my real surprise, about 8 minutes later I found a drill BIT. It fit !
Dirt on the fracture area showed that it was broken before I got to it.
What a hand grip ! Not delicate enough for a perforator or even a drill.
More like a Marlin spike for sail repair.
From an Indian Navy boat ?
