Chilo (my neighbor on the Nueces River) showed me his favorite find on his property from his extensive arrowhead collection. Thought I would share with you.
There is a green stone on the top which appears to be an emerald. This find has been on display at a local family museum and Chilo just received it back recently.
Enjoy the photos!!
This artifact was at the Crawford Family Museum and is possibly a ceremonial piece. Old timers from this area know of this artifact belonging to Chilo. The artifact weighs around 10 oz. Has anyone found/seen something similar in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico? Duane Rogers will look at this piece for Chilo at upcoming Kerrville Show.
A very curious curio ! We have the occasional wars over trying to identifying points
on the basis of a picture. This ones a winner !
Dwain's professional opinion should be interesting and enlightening to Museum goers whether they have been admiring a unique artifact or a unique stone.
To get the final verdict in one shot I would suggest the San Antonio show which is less than 3 weeks away.
Determining what that green thing is may require more than a flintologist.
Big city SA must have a selection of mineral specialists, rock shops, lapidarys, jewelry stores
to make a determination of the green thing.
Hope you'll relay the results so we can sleep easy.
