i have a ranch in oregon with small river and it is sandy with piles of obsidian along the river that were next to campgrounds. no middens, just obsidian and flint. lots of small points and an occasional drill. anywhere you find water, you find stuff. columbia river seems to have high quality, but my place is in the desert and sometimes a g10.
You have a lot of good knapping material in Oregon. I did some web searching and you have a rockhounds paradise there. Man, if I retire in your area, I guarantee, I'll be back in the lapidary business for sure.
